    UNITY

"Unexpected Face, Unexpected Places" Speakers Bureau

The "Unexpected Faces, Unexpected Places" (UFUP) Speakers Bureau educates the community about homelessness and our homeless neighbors through presentations by homeless and formerly homeless people who are willing to share their stories with members of the community in order to dispel the myths, misconceptions and stereotypes that exist about our homeless neighbors; and to open up a dialogue between people who are housed and those who are not.

To launch the bureau, seventeen homeless and formerly homeless people were screened and nine joined as speakers.  These speakers spoke to 45 groups reaching more than 2500 people of all ages.  (UFUP speakers bureau brochure << click to download pdf )
